BigLoveWedding

Done…& Starting

November 19, 2013

“Big Love” opened to a fantastic and enthusiastic crowd on Friday night, and on Monday “BL” sound designer Ryan McMasters and I moved on to our next production – “Well” by Lisa Kron, at Off the Wall Theatre in Carnegie.

“Well” is an exciting project for me on many levels. I’m working with a fantastic cast – Ginny Gruenert and Daina Michelle Griffith as Ann and Lisa Kron, with Tony Bingham, Alan Bomar Jones, Linda Haston and Susie McGregor-Laine. I’m also reunited with scenic designer Gianni Downs (who I’ve worked with on many shows), and Scott Nelson (who I’ve never worked with as a director, but I had the pleasure of assisting on a show he designed a few years ago). The wonderful Rich Preffer, Erika Cuenca, Kim Crawford, Colleen Ryan, and Garrett Kerr round out the ensemble. (And Ryan, of course!)

I was lucky enough to see Lisa Kron perform at Humana a couple of years ago, in “The Veri!*on Play” and found her to be charming and endearing and, well, just WONDERFUL. That experience makes this experience even better in some indefinable way.

“Big Love” has three more performances (Thursday, Nov. 21, Friday 22 and Sat 23 – at 8); and “Well” plays Dec. 13 – 28. I’ll be in Greensburg to see “Big Love” again on Friday; let me know if you will be there!
